PROGRAM: Sam Roth was the guest speaker. She is director of marketing for Whaley’s Children Center in Flint.
 
 
 
PROGRAM: Mark Sweatman, a former Brighton Rotarian, gave a presentation about his job as director of the Office of Mineral Management within the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

PROGRAM: Guest Matt Brady stepped in with some stories about his life and times as a one-time Livingston County resident now living in Colorado.
PROGRAM: Kristina VanPutten represented the local Boy Scouts Council; she was introduced by Dennis Kalio.
PROGRAM: Undersheriff Mike Murphy gave a timely talk about the responsibilities and pressures facing law enforcement officials. He was introduced by Bill Anderson.

PROGRAM/CLUB ASSEMBLY: Jason Huntley invited Chad Savage, M.D. to be Rotary’s luncheon speaker.  He spoke on “How to Increase Your Pay Without Needing a Raise”.
PROGRAM: There was no program today but Mike and Jane McManus gave a brief update on the Rotary International conference in South Korea; and Mike Bourke and Piet Lindhout gave an update on the Dash or Crash which is June 25.

Program Host Jeff Hayden introduced Meena Puri, a Yoga Therapist, Registered Ayurvedic Practioner (R.A.P.) and Certified Meditation Teacher, from Ayurvedic Healing Center in Milford.

Program Host Jerry Hardesty introduced Rick Jackson, a Big 10 Division I Lacrosse and Football Official for the past 37 years
PROGRAM/CLUB ASSEMBLY: LuAann Loy invited Garbriella Hoffman, the band director for all bands at Brighton High School and 27 talented jazz musicians from Brighton High School, which provided the luncheon entertainment.
PROGRAM: LuAnn Loy presented Sean LaRosa, executive director of Early Childhood Services for the Livingston Education Services Agency (LESA).
GUESTS: Molly DeWinkle and sons Arie and Ioan; Larry Pfiel, week 3.
PROGRAM:
Program Host Greg Gray, PhD, and Brighton Area Schools Superintendent, conducted a tour and field trip of the new Brighton High School (BHS) athletic facilities. 
NOTE - Next week’s (April 26th) Rotary meeting will be at the Brighton High School instead of meeting at the Brighton Community Center.  The meeting will be at the same time, just a different location.  Park in the back by the Fieldhouse and Pool.  There is an open parking lot by the Fieldhouse door.

Program Host Jerry Dunneback introduced Carla Sharp, Head of Youth Services at the Brighton District Library (BDL), who discussed “Special Needs:  Special Kids.”.

PROGRAM:  Mark Cook presented Paul and Mary Ellen Huber, who live near Cleveland and are creators and board members for charitable, non-profit organization called Helping Haitians in Need.
PROGRAM:  Bonnie Corrigan presented Matt Riesterer whose program featured the Appalachian Service Project, which sends volunteers to five Appalachian states to provide warmer, safer and dryer housing.
PROGRAM:  Mike and Jane McManus showed excellent slide and video show of their trip to Sao Paulo for Rotary International’s convention, as well as visits to other exciting South American locale.

PROGRAM:  Bode and Finn Cooper, who are brothers and attend Hornung Elementary School, led the club in a fun and challenging Christmas-themed contest. One member called it the best program of the year.

Program host Michele Bouhana introduced Michelle Acevedo and Lauren Donahue from Work Skills Corporation’s Art Program and Studio West gallery
PROGRAM: Mike Bourke provided the program, which was a look at Brighton Rotary’s long involvement with teaching Junior Achievement classes at St. Patrick Catholic School in Brighton.
PROGRAM: Mary Todd Lincoln (courtesy of Brighton actress Chris Miller) provided a stellar rendition of her life, which included the marriage to the love of her life but nonetheless was a “life full of loss and abandonment.”
PROGRAM:
Program host Bill Anderson introduced Major Prezza Morrison of the Salvation Army who returned to speak about her involvement with 09/11/2001 and the Twin Towers disaster.
PROGRAM/CLUB ASSEMBLY: Fred Bodnar was responsible for today’s program, which was presented by Bud Clark who spoke on the discovery expedition of Lewis & Clark.
PROGRAM: The Brighton Rotary Club, in recognition of World Polio Day, raised $4,440 during a single lunch that was produced by Rotarian Tom Coates.
